My Swan body mended
while I was dancing.
First round head and curved bill
strung themselves atop my neck -
a slender wisp of smoke materializing.
Next, the heft of my body,
lungs and chest
rolled into marsh water.
Finally wings and tail
attached,
well preened and waiting
to be lifted by winds.
I forget this body is always waiting
to be conjured from the the pin feathers
of ecstasy.
