The inward glance…

We all have within ourselves the ability to explore and cultivate a sense of inner being that nourishes, guides us and connects us to Spirit.
Our ability to explore this place of sacred presence does not rely on age, gender, wisdom or intelligence. It certainly does not rely upon ethnicity, culture or ancestry. It defies religious affiliation and nationality. It can be energized by the arts, sciences, religion, literature, philosophy, athletics, meditation and a myriad of contemplative practices.
All it requires is curiosity and the willingness to glance inward.
Transformative Arts
I was blessed to participate in the arts from a young age. Writing, dance, and theater all helped me cultivate a strong inner fire. A crisis in my twenties led me to begin training in shamanism and getting my MA in Transformative Arts from JFK Universities Holistic Studies dept. Later, when my wife died, leaving me to raise our two young children alone, I reached deep into my experiences and training to guide our wounded family to healing and a new life.
I’ve taught for The Foundation for Shamanic Studies as well as my own coursework on Grief & Poetry and Celtic Spirituality.
My practices are daily communion with the spirits through an integrated movement and shamanic journey practice and exploration of the arts, chiefly writing. Those are my tools but they lead me to the same place available to us all - the innate consciousness that is the essence of all we experience.
