I feel stillness in you,
that place you can let go into
where being unfurls.
Alone doesn’t live there,
just presence with its simple gestures of peace.
I see you watching yourself drift on the surface like a fallen reed
while the memory of every breath you’ve taken becomes forgotten.
When I am with you,
in that place of no place,
we can be together without touching or sharing a word,
nothing binds us
and there are no barriers between us,
no cup to contain this moment.
We have unwrapped separateness and found ourselves there, ready to be free.
