Ocean Prays Through Me
We have to surrender to being fragile, with hearts that are swept away...
read or listen:
I’m learning to let the Ocean pray through me,
it isn’t easy
because I am so small
and I hide from things so vast.
Prayer comes from all of life
for all of life,
like the way
your smile feeds you
and me
at the same time,
or a kiss conjures a sensuous ghost
that haunts the moment
until the next kiss is made.
People can let every blessed being pray through them
for every blessed being,
but we have to surrender
to being fragile,
with hearts that are swept away
by the briefest
glance from the divine.
I’m learning to let the Ocean pray through me,
grateful that it’s such a patient teacher.
Gorgeous and evocative Tim! Another soulful poem I am sharing all around.
Phew. So haunting and evocative Tim—and those words are only specks of mist from the ocean of the huge, wordless response that arose in me. Thank you.
