The shore-worn body of the Ocean flows around me,
encompassing me,
as I pray in silence at dawn.
I receive the Ocean through my belly,
She rushes in,
flowing out as I exhale,
filling me and emptying me
over and over,
flecks of minerals and dancing algae seeping into my bones.
Ocean fills my heart with peace,
that I may bring peace to the world.
She cleanses my heart of fear so that I can welcome the great song of life.
I give myself to her tides,
tides of living and dying
tides of loving and releasing
tides of kinship and claiming and loss.
Ocean rhythm carries me through the day.
I pray in silence at dawn welcoming tides that I refused for too long.
