Joy Dog
This will be our day like no other,
listen or read:
After my morning feet touch the carpet,
and I remove the great and terrible wall
separating cat and dog land,
I'm greeted by 75lbs of fur and joy.
"You’re here! I missed you so."
Let's rub snouts and boop and lick,
her body beccoming a thick scarf wrapped around my legs.
Off to the kitchen we go,
she breaking left into the living room
me taking the path by the laundry.
We meet again by the trashcan -
"Hallelujah, you're here!"
This will be our day like no other,
rivaling all childhood days
with mud battles
trees, scabs and rivers.
Life will say yes to us
over and over again,
tumbling through every bush,
shared meal,
and rule to be broken,
together.
Always together.
This Dog lights the world on fire for me every day.
Oh, so same here! Did you know they can sprain their tails from having too good of a time on a cold day? Over-wagging. Ours just got his full wag back after a tragic sprain.
