Converting To Everything

I’m down with almost anything that puts me on that train to the divine...

Did you know I’m Christian and Buddhist?

I’m thinking of converting to Judaism for the food and friendships,
and Islam because I love the words of the Prophet so much.

I adore all of the Hindu Gods,
I have several tattoos planned for my favorites.

Most days, because of my upbringing I waver between atheism
and agnosticism, like my Dad.

But really, I spend my free time practicing shamanism,
the kind that uses a drum instead of plant medicine,
and is more embarrassing because I’m an old white guy with a rattle.

I’m down with almost anything
that puts me on that train to the divine
where everything is saturated in light.

I don’t care what religion you’ve sworn an oath to,
it’s your kindness I’m paying attention to.

That's all that matters.
